LawShastra is an online web-portal, where students and other law professionals can explore various dimensions of their field under one platform. LawShastra website was established with a vivid objective for providing people with spiffing articles and study materials, educating and keeping everyone updated, provides information and guidance on competitive examinations and to offer short courses related to law and policy.
Dr. P. R. Kalidhass is working as Assistant Professor at Faculty of Law, University of Delhi since February 2018. Before joining DU, he was working as Assistant Professor at DSNLU from August 2017 to February 2018. He received his LL. B from University of Mysore, M.L from University of Madras, M.Phil. from West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), and holds another M. Phil and Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). His major research interest lies in public and private international law, international organizations and institutions, Constitutional Law and Administrative Law.
He authored a book titled “Conflict of Norms in a Fragmented International Legal System: A Critical Analysis”, and has published a research paper on “Determining the status of Private Military Companies under International Law: A Quest to solve accountability issues in Armed Conflicts”. He has done extensive research on the issue of norm conflict and fragmentation of international law during his stay at JNU and on the issue of veto power and permanent membership of the UN Security Council while doing research at NUJS Kolkata. He has also done a fair amount of research on the issue of jurisdiction of the ICJ in the course of his M.L. at University of Madras. In addition, he has number of conference papers to his credits.
He was the recipient of the prestigious The Hague Academy of International Law Scholarship for Public International in 2013; the ICC scholarship for the summer School on International Criminal Court in 2013 (Declined); the Academy of European Law Scholarship for the Summer School on Human Rights Law in 2012 (Declined); and the Xiamen Academy of International Law Scholarship in 2011. Prior to joining DSNLU, he was practising law at the Supreme Court of India and the High Court of Delhi from January 2016 to July 2017; and also has practicing experience at the High Court of Madras from August 2014 to December 2015.
